Pines-sponsored Spartan Athlete Places in World Championship

Pines is a proud sponsor of Kaleb Yates, who just finished top 10 in the North Lake Tahoe Spartan World Championship Powered by Rakuten.  which took place Sept. 29 in Lake Tahoe, Calif.  Athletes from more than 30 countries who qualified for the event gathered to compete for the title World Champion on the Spartan Beast Tahoe course. Finishing 9th in the world in his age group, Yates tells us he’s “never been more stoked” with his performance.

“Easily it was the most mentally challenging race I’ve ever experienced, with an early failed obstacle, to freezing temperatures, to jumping into a lake in those freezing temperatures and then running another 8 miles while trying desperately to warm back up.”

Pines products have been the biggest boost to my performance over the last few months, he says. “I knew the altitude was going to be a difference maker going into the Spartan Race World Championships, but because of this product, I could barely feel the effect of the altitude. The cold was a different story.”

Overall during training for the race, he says, he woke up with more energy and didn’t fatigue as quickly. “Wheatgrass helps in so many ways, such as balancing pH in the body, improving mood and fighting disease. If you’ve never tried a wheatgrass product before, and have been thinking about giving it a shot, there is not company better than Pines WheatGrass.”

Top place finishers of the 13-mile obstacle course race were in the Men’s Elite Results Category: Robert Killian (2:11:54) followed by Ryan Atkins (2:12:27) and Jon Albon (2:13:40). Women Elite Results:  Nicole Mericle (2:28:53), Lindsay Webster (2:43:05) and Myrain Guiliot-Boisset (2:54:35).

We expect to continue seeing great things from Yates who chronicles his training and events at @kaleb.yates.fitness on Instagram. “So much more for me to come now that I’ve figured out what works for me in training and nutrition.”

Pines has long history of sponsoring elite athletes, including Hobie Call, a four-time Spartan Race World Champion.
