Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Just in time for Thanksgiving, Alice designed another tasty smoothie. It is a nice cordial before the big meal, a light desert after it, or a late evening Thanksgiving snack!


• 1 Cup Flax Milk
• 1 Banana
• 1/4 Can Organic Pumpkin
• 1/4 tsp Pumpkin Pie spice
• 1 Tbs Pines wheat Grass

This recipe is healthy, tasty and good for you all year round.  Everyone in your home will have at least one serving of a dark green leafy veggie.

Most People Don't Eat Enough Dark Green Veggies at Thanksgiving or Other Times

As a result of research by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), only one person in ten eats enough veggies for the protective health benefits they provide. Those who eat three or more servings of dark green veggies each day have less diet-related disease. Rather than following the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.), we need more greens everyday, including Thanksgiving. The USDA in this MY PLATE graphic show veggies as our number one food.

He devoted his life to the scientific study of wheatgrass  We follow his example. We still use many of his fields as well as one of his labs.

In addition to following Dr. Schnabel's growing and harvest standards, Pines follows his package standards.  We remove the oxygen using amber glass bottles with special metal caps.  An oxygen-free atmosphere protects green food nutrients.  Without oxygen, a green food loses value through oxidation.  After opening, you can seal the container between uses because of the tight-fitting metal cap. That results in the freshest green superfood possible. Brands packed in plastic tubs do not have that protection. They rather quickly lose food value from while sitting in a warehouse and on a store's shelf.
